Self Defense from Dogs The Church of Antimuttology

Self Defense from Dogs

The Church of Antimuttology

August 29, 2012

The official stance of the Church of Antimuttology is that humans have a greater right to life than dogs. There is nothing debatable about this position. If there is a situation where human life is threatened by dogs, then it is the spiritual right of every human to defend his/her life and the life of their fellow humans.
Human beings are that of favor and Light. With rights and responsibilities beyond that of other earthly creations, humans have the right to feel happy and secure and not in fear of life or freedom.

As soon as a human being feels the slightest inkling of fear, worry, panic, or dread then that human has the right to seek balance and adjust its environment to restore the peace. This is a fundamental right that may not be infringed upon or rescinded by anyone. To deny such a fundamental right would be a condemnation to a life of misery and imprisonment.
Dogs urinate anywhere they please and roam freely. So why can't human beings roam freely without the encumbrances of dog attacks?

Maybe you are a very masculine man and you don't see the potential dangers of dogs. Imagine for a moment that your mother or sister or Aunt, or grandmother or child is walking outside and she encounters a vicious dog that wants to end her life. It goes without saying that you would have no difficulty deciding what to do in that scenario. Similarly, we must take a proactive approach to self defense.

By Self Defense we mean that you are entitled to defend every single cell of your physical body by whatever means is necessary to do so. Nobody should ever suffer loss of life or limb because a stupid and ferocious animal has a territorial issue or a psychological/chemical imbalance.

Many municipalities have dog catchers/animal control agencies and we applaud such efforts to safeguard the general human population. However, this is not enough in itself. These same agencies are aware of this problem and this is exactly why they utilize euthanization. Unless the dog population decreases, whether naturally or by human intervention, the risk of dog attacks will increase in like proportion. Spaying and neutering human owned dogs is a thoughtful gesture, but that only helps to control the population of commercially-bred dogs. Such custom-designed dogs may have been bred to have a specifically mild temperament or may be of great monetary value; which may deter the dog owners from ever releasing these dogs into the streets. Most likely, these types of dogs will sleep at the foot of the bed of its owner- indoors until the day it dies- and then the owner will stuff it and keep it on the mantle over the fireplace.
The fact is that most people who have "lower grade" dogs do not want to or cannot afford to have their dog spayed/neutered and it is these types of dogs that find themselves wandering the city streets. In fact, it is these half-trained dogs that can be the most dangerous, according to most self defense and dog training experts. Dogs that are trained to attack, but not trained enough to obey verbal commands to stop are nothing more than furry killing machines.

What does the Church recommend?

Our recommendation is a two tier plan of action. Proactive preparation is required in the event that first tier Self Defense is ineffective.

First Tier:  Segregation

The main point is to remember to do whatever necessary to keep dogs away from you as far as possible. Not everyone can be Rambo and wrestle a dog in a death-roll. Some of the simplest methods are the least aggressive and require the least amounts of thinking or physical strength.
  • Using sonic devices that create an uncomfortable shield of distance between yourself and the dog is by far one of the best ways to keep a dog segregated.
  • Another tool is to keep mace/pepper spray handy to spray at the dog's face. Sometimes, even if you fail to spray the dog's eyes the dog may will segregate itself and flee because it could smell the contents of the warning shot.
  • Lastly, and this works about 75% of the time with stray dogs, you can try to let your adrenaline guide you. Go crazy and scream and be sure to waive your arms around like a Muppet, hopped-up on drugs. Most dogs will flee.
If the first tier fails, then you must deploy second tier tactics.

Second Tier: Eradication

The main point remains the same, to keep the dog as far away from you as possible. However, since the dog is refusing to segregate itself from you then you must engage the animal directly in order to restore the state of segregation. In this case, we are speaking of a permanent segregation. Depending on the situation, your physical strength and adrenaline may be enough to end the life of the attacker or maybe you will have tools that will assist you.
  • Dogs do not have hands and fingers. Get control of its head. You can offer your arm and let them latch on. As soon as it does, drop on top of the animal and gouge both of its eyes out. If you fail to do this then the dog will try to kill you as soon as you release it. Never release a dog unless it is totally blind. You can use your fingers or thumb to dislodge the eyes or you can use a pocketknife or stick. Use anything around you and scream for help the entire time. As soon as it is blind then you can release it and run away.
  • Buy a handgun and become comfortable with moving targets. This is by far one of the most effective tools available. Even if you miss, the explosion of the gun or the ricochet of the bullet is enough to stun a dog or make it flee.
  • Speak loudly and carry a big stick. If you cannot get or do not want a handgun, then a sturdy baton may be enough to crack open the skull of any dog. Remember that smashing its nose inward will only make it more ferocious. Be sure to aim for the teeth/lower jaw and/or the skullcap. A dog with no teeth cannot bite you and a dog with no brains cannot advance to attack you. Be sure to yell and scream so other people will come to help you or at least notify police.
  • Taser Wands and Stun Guns. These can be effective and can either cause the dog to lose consciousness or stop its heart, especially if you use a model that is at least 4 million volts or greater.
It is standard police practice to use deadly force if attacked. The Church of Antimuttology does not act any less rationally than a trained police officer in light of similar threats to his person. Every human being has the right to life and self-preservation. If dogs cannot be segregated then they must be eradicated. In this case, we must Kill The Dogs.

Killing Dogs in Russia: The Sport

Kill The Dogs

Recently, Russia was in thespotlight because of a new trend where average citizens are killing dogs as a type of sport. Many of the participants are armed with various rifles while others are using easy to acquire poison from utilizing the death cap mushroom. I just want to briefly touch on a few points about this issue. Hopefully our Russian brothers will accept this critique.

First of all, I would like to congratulate the Russians for the courage to step forward and defend themselves from harm. Many people act in a cowardly manner when confronted with conflict and would rather hide indoors. It seems as though our Russian brothers are not cowards and they have chosen to protect humans from the violent attacks of stray dogs. This is the very essence of love for your fellow man: you want them to be safe so you take action and protect them. Bravo!

However, there are a few points that I would like to address:

Legality

In Russia, there are (rarely enforced) laws in place to protect dogs from such activities. I would like to advise our brothers to lobby for a repeal of these archaic and outdated laws. There is absolutely no reason that any human being should risk their freedom for a bag of fur. There are many legal ways to dispose of these mutts. Try to utilize all legal methods first. If you are genuinely under siege and totally encapsulated by stray dogs then by all means do anything within your ability to return your streets to a state of normalcy. There is no reason that anyone should live in fear because of stray animals.

Safety

While I admire the effort, I am a bit disturbed by the means. Poison is fine when used in a very controlled setting, but I am hearing reports of poisoned meat being tossed haphazardly in the city streets. Anyone who has children knows that kids will often innocently and trustingly take any object from the ground and place it into their mouths. If there is a gang of stray dogs and you want to throw poison to them from the safety of your car then, by all means, go ahead and do so. I don't mean to place a burden on anyone who wished to kill the dogs. There is a concern about the safety of innocents that needs to be addressed. Whenever you deploy poison you are morally and legally responsible for who or whatever it kills. Imagine if you intended to kill the dogs, but instead you inadvertently killed two kids who were walking home from school.
Bottom Line: If you must use poison, then do so responsibly. After the dogs eat their fill and disperse make sure that any remaining traces of the poisoned food are cleaned up afterwards.

I recommend that if anyone is in fear for their safety that they find a legal way or at least a way that cannot possibly hurt or kill innocent human beings. If anyone is looking to make this sport more popular, then maybe the best way would be to have weekly contests with death count stats. Larger and more vicious dogs could be worth more points per kill, etc.

Carson Shelter

0

Posted June 23rd, 2014 in Shelters by Josh
On Friday Carson shelter manager Gil Moreno abruptly resigned from his position at the shelter. This comes a few months after the shakeup at Baldwin Park, where then manager Lance Hunter resigned from his position to go join the ASPCA. Since that time it seems that the highest of decision makers at Baldwin Park are reversing course and moving in a backwards fashion. Ric Browde made this statement on his blog back in May…
This week despite having over 30 empty kennels on May 10th, the shelter staff was being ordered to kill. Adoptable dogs were being given deadly Marcia Mayeda cocktails and staff and volunteer morale plummeted as the number of barrels full of pet carcasses inside the shelter’s freezers soared.
^This matches what I personally witnessed at the Carson shelter when I was there to visit with and photograph the dogs on June 4th, counting 39 empty kennels and then coming to find out that they were still killing that morning.
With Moreno’s tenure over, Alonzo Real will now become acting shelter manager until a replacement can be found and hired. I’d like to formally throw my hat into the ring as someone who would be extremely interested in partnering with whatever new leadership they bring on, but this seems extremely unlikely considering Marcia Mayeda and L.A. County rejected my application to become a volunteer due to what they called an “ongoing conflict with the department.” That’s another way of saying that if I’m not set on being a shill for a horribly run system, that they don’t need my help, free or otherwise.
They also forced my girlfriend out of the volunteer system, due to her refusing to sign a selectively enforced document written only for her that mandated that she adhere to an in-house breed-specific policy that goes against everything just and decent for the dogs. Prior to this she was “suspended” for taking out Pit Bulls that had not yet been temperament tested, which is a complete racket considering most of their Pit Bulls never even get temperament tested (to the few that eventually do, it routinely takes staff over a week to do them after it’s been requested), and thus, sit in their cages without interaction until they are killed.
So why did Gil resign? Was he going to be fired? Was his resignation just a move to save his pension? All questions without any on the record answers. What I do know is that in my 3+ years of visiting the Carson shelter I’ve never seen a poorer run place. The foundation of control, prejudice, vindictiveness and retaliation has defined my coverage of this shelter. It will forever be encapsulated on this website.
Moreno aside, the crux of any argument made against any L.A. County shelter will always lead back to its atrociously entrenched director Marcia Mayeda. She’s the one that’s been most deserving of being fired for well over a decade, and instead was just shockingly given a raise in 2014. You can blame the L.A. County Board of Supervisors for that one. Last month the interim job at the Baldwin Park shelter was given to Gayle Miley, who proceeded to immediately alienate volunteers in a myriad of ways. Worse, Marcia Mayeda has since hired the infamous Pat Claerbout of the Stockton animal shelter to take over at Baldwin, signifying her continued desire of reorganizing deck chairs on the Titanic.
To close, I will attach my last exchange with Gil, which gives insight into 1 gigantic misstep that ended up costing a wonderful dog his life. How many times this shit happened without anyone there to recognize it, document it, raise hell on the dog’s behalf, we will never know…
On the morning of 6/4/2014 the Carson shelter opted to kill Brownie (#A4709410) while he had a CTA in place and an adopting family that would show up onsite hours later to get him. That same day I was at the shelter and counted 39 empty kennels. The excuse given for why he was euthanized? He was “sick.”
