( RIP).

After his senseless death a memorial was created for Harambe and children and adults came to pay their respects as they grieve for the innocent life lost.

Here's the story as it broke and while difficult to watch as a parent it appears the Gorilla is protecting the child and was reacting to the screaming of the crowd that had witness the incident.

Cincinnati Zoo Devastated by Death of Beloved Gorilla
CINCINNATI (May 29, 2016) –The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden family is in mourning today and trying to process the death of 17-year-old gorilla Harambe. The gorilla was killed yesterday in order to save the life of a child who climbed through a public barrier at Gorilla World and dropped fifteen feet into the exhibit’s moat, which contained a foot of water.
“We are heartbroken about losing Harambe, but a child’s life was in danger and a quick decision had to be made by our Dangerous Animal Response Team,” said Zoo Director Thane Maynard. “Our first response was to call the gorillas out of the exhibit. The two females complied, but Harambe did not. It is important to note that with the child still in the exhibit, tranquilizing the 450-pound gorilla was not an option. Tranquilizers do not take effect for several minutes and the child was in imminent danger. On top of that, the impact from the dart could agitate the animal and cause the situation to get much worse.”
Zoo staff and Cincinnati Fire Department (CFD) were the first responders on the scene. According to a CFD incident report, the gorilla was violently dragging and throwing the child. Minutes later, the Zoo’s Dangerous Animal Response Team arrived and made the difficult decision to put the gorilla down to save the child. The response team includes full-time keepers, veterinarians, maintenance, Zoo leadership and security staff members. All members are trained and certified annually by the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office.
The four-year-old boy was transported to Children’s Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) after being removed from the exhibit. The child was released from CHMC Saturday night.
“We’re glad to hear that the child is going to be okay. We’re touched by the outpouring of support from the community and our members who loved Harambe,” said Maynard. “The Zoo family is going through a painful time, and we appreciate your understanding and know that you care about our animals and the people who care for them.”
Gorilla World opened in 1978, and this is the first time there has been a breach. The exhibit is inspected regularly by the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) and adheres to safety guidelines.
“The safety of our visitors and our animals is our #1 priority,” said Maynard. “The barrier that we have in place has been effective for 38 years. Nevertheless, we will study this incident as we work toward continuous improvement for the safety of our visitors and animals.”
The Zoo is home to nine western lowland gorillas. There are about 765 gorillas in zoos worldwide including approximately 360 in the Association of Zoos & Aquariums (AZA) Species Survival Program (SSP) for this species. Western lowland gorillas are critically-endangered in the wild, with less than 175,000 individuals. Due primarily to habitat destruction caused by logging, mineral mining and agricultural expansion, wild gorilla numbers continue to shrink. The Cincinnati Zoo supports wild gorilla conservation efforts like the Mbeli Bai Study in Nouabalé-Ndoki National Park in the Republic of Congo.

Now everyone seems to be blaming the parent's for this tragic death has exposed a number of deficiencies in the Zoo's habitat for the animal to start with for instance how did the child manage to get into the enclosure, parents visit the Zoo with their children and anyone having children knows you can't always keep them under control but this doesn't absolve them from responsibility.

Welcome to the Cincinnati Zoo - The Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden

The fact is the Zoo bares as much responsibility in this as the child and/or the parent/s do as the zoo had a duty of care to both the inhabitant and visitors to ensure something like this couldn't happen ultimately they charge people money to come to their establishment and people have the right to believe both themselves and their children are relatively safe.

The Rape of the Pit Bull Beatrice shocks the national conscience.

Created by.......

Rosheen Rayburn Scottsdale, AZ

Our founding father, Thomas Jefferson said, “Man [is] a rational animal, endowed by nature with rights and with an innate sense of justice," We are seeking legal justice for Beatrice the, 1.5 year old pit bull mix brutally raped by a citizen in Vance County, North Carolina.

There are laws in place created to, when enforced and upheld, protect our civility, humanity and safety.  If a person who conducts themselves within a realm of pure torture to others, and lacks concern for any penalties, they will come to believe they are above any form of punishment, and that they will not be held accountable for the atrocities they bestowed upon others.

The abuse of Beatrice, a helpless dog, has shocked the collective conscience of the citizens of North Carolina and beyond.  With malice and ill intent, the individual who owned Beatrice is responsible for the brutal rape and torture she experienced for over a year, approximately 8,760 hours of pain and fear.

Research and statistics have shown that individuals capable of such atrocities with animals often move on to human victims. Do not allow him this entitlement, the feeling or belief that he deserves to be given special privileges.

The Humane Society of the United States points to studies that show the high correlation between sexual abuse of animals and sexual abuse of children. One study found that 96% of juveniles who engaged in sexual abuse of animals also admitted to future sex offenses against humans. In another study, some 37% of sexually violent juvenile offenders were found to have a history of animal sexual assault.

An FBI study found that serial killers have a high rate of prior animal sexual abuse as well. Mr. Waters, because of the darkness of the subject of rape (bestiality), many will not feel any guilt or remorse and say “It’s only an animal,” but the truth is that these crimes of nature apply to all living beings.

These crimes against nature (bestiality) resulted in Beatrice having a prolapsed uterus and rectum and a generally poor condition, all of which contributed to her death on Jan. 21, 2016 during the reparative surgery, correction of the prolapses, to save her life.

Dr. Jill Caruso DVM,  performed the necropsy in New York, and indicated the two concomitant prolapses were indicative of Beatrice being sexually abused. As the 9th Prosecutorial District Attorney of North Carolina, you represent the people of your state.

This petition asks you to bring charges against the man responsible for this heinous crime and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.  You have achieved your position by demonstrating good judgement and recourse and the path you choose will speak loudly to the determination of your office to keep the oath you have taken to uphold the law.  “Without justice being freely, fully, and impartially administered, neither our persons, nor our rights, nor our property, can be protected.

And if these, or either of them, are regulated by no certain laws, and are subject to no certain principles, and are held by no certain tenure, and are redressed, when violated, by no certain remedies, society fails of all its value; and men may as well return to a state of savage and barbarous independence. (1833, Joseph Story).  (Associate Justice of the United States Supreme Court)

Below are the North Carolina animal abuse statutes that were written to protect Beatrice and others. Her serial rapist and animal abuser fully and clearly broke these laws as evidenced by the necropsy report by Dr. Caruso.   § 14-177. Crime against  nature.

If any person shall commit the crime against nature, with mankind or beast, he shall be punished as a Class I felon.  § 14-360.  Cruelty to animals; construction of section. b)     If any person shall maliciously torture, mutilate, maim, cruelly beat, disfigure, poison, or kill, or cause or procure to be tortured, mutilated, maimed, cruelly beaten, disfigured, poisoned, or killed, any animal, every such offender shall for every such offense be guilty of a  Class H felony (c)

As used in this section, the words "torture", "torment", and "cruelly" include or refer to any act, omission, or neglect causing or permitting unjustifiable pain, suffering, or death. As used in this section, the word "intentionally" refers to an act committed knowingly and without justifiable excuse, while the word "maliciously" means an act committed intentionally and with malice or bad motive.

As used in this section, the term "animal" includes every living vertebrate in the classes Amphibia, Reptilia, Aves, and Mammalia except human beings.

The facts of this case are incomprehensible, vile and demand that justice for Beatrice be served. Regards, The People

Teenager wanting to buy puppies for bait!

Started by Dariana Chandler

Petitioning: Craighead County Sheriff’s Office

A teenager just took to Facebook to announce everyone he is interested in purchasing puppies that would be used as bait for dog fights. The alarming post came from the person pictured on the left, believed to be in the Jonesboro area of Arkansas.

Jonesboro Animal Control claim they are aware of this situation and have urged all pet owners to make sure their companions are safe and be extremely careful if they decide to give away their pets.

Authorities have also claimed that a new method of dog fights – called “trunk fights” – is on the rise. These events are as inhumane as they can get and look to inflict maximum animal suffering. Two vicious dogs are locked in the back of a car’s trunk. The bout only ends when there is only one dog standing. And organizers will simply driving around until the noise from the trunk has diminished.

Most of the dogs involved in this despicable events life a miserable life. They are forced to sit on heavy chains for extended periods of time, are forced to undergo arduous training sessions and are left with scars and injuries that might never heal.

When it comes to bait dogs, organizers often proceed to removing their teeth or tape shut their muzzles, to ensure that they can inflict no harm on the other dogs. (Please check the photos below to learn more about the plight of these dogs).

Local authorities need to do more than issue a warning. Hundreds of dogs are potentially in danger in the hands of this heartless and ruthless teen. The time for issuing warnings has long gone! It is time to deploy as many resources as possible and apprehend this man before more dogs are hurt.

Dog fights have been declared a serious offense in each US state starting 2016. Ask the authorities to keep their pledge to stop these events and track this teen down immediately!
Support a thorough and urgent investigation into this matter by signing and sharing the petition. Thank you!
